Thank you mystery friend for the card and kind words, I don’t even know if you are a reader of my blog–I didn’t recognize your handwriting, no return address, very sneaky, and thoughtful.
And thank you to my friend for your cheerful note and basket of goodies, you got all my favorites! Most of all thank you for remembering him. You don’t have to say anything, just listen, to the same story over and over!

Mother-In-Law,we are thinking of you, we hope you’re on the mend soon!
Shout out to Mom and Dad in China-who can’t read my blog because ‘the republic’ blocked me.
Jason has finals, and then he’ll have a few more graduate credits under his belt.

A new show coming out on TLC this week features a family that use to live in my neighborhood! Their daugther, Auvi, babysat my kids and one summer the family put on various workshops at their house all summer that both my kids attended. They sold their house, bought an RV and hit the road. Now, they have their own mini-series ‘Six for the Road’. It premieres this Wednesday on TLC-check your local listings! And they will be on the Today show Weds morning, Oct 29th! We watched the trailer and it’s surreal to see someone you know in a reality show. Congratulations to the Evans’ Family-we are so excited for you! Check out their web site–Our Loud Family.

This evening was the city Halloween Party held at the community recreation center. The kids had fun playing games, trick or treating around the track, finding their way through the mini maze, and more. Savannah and Jackson entered the coloring contest and Savannah won 3rd place for her age group! As a city employee we get to go an hour before it officially starts, so we have no lines and no waiting, it’s a great perk. My department runs the spooky storytelling room. So, after the kids did all the activities and got their treats, I helped direct traffic and assist the storyteller as needed. I am not quite into Halloween as much this year, usually I get really into it. This year I only have about 1/4 of my decorations up and I haven’t carved pumpkins…yet. On Friday, the kids will have school parties, a church party and we will go around the neighborhood too.

Girls’ Night Out

We went to Paradise Bakery for dinner–Andrea, Jessica, myself, Molly (not pictured), and Debbie (not pictured). Two more were suppose to come late but we don’t know what happened to them. We had a great time talking, laughing and getting to know each other better.

We attended the Walk To Remember at the Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake. With so many families in attendance to honor their babies, there was standing room only. They had a program with a few speakers and a musical number, “Calling All Angels”, and a short walk around the cemetery. Each family selected either a white, blue or pink balloon(s) to represent the baby(ies) they have lost. Many wrote their baby(ies) names on the balloon. Then they read the names of all the babies and as your baby’s name was read aloud, you released your balloon. After the name reading and balloon release, they had refreshments and a rose for each family to take home. Like many of the events surrounding the loss of our baby, it is too personal to share the thoughts and feelings. There are some moments in life that are only for our own hearts.
Calling All Angels
A quiet voice is calling my name.
I hear you laughing, but the question remains
Are you playing and dancing above?
Momma’s aching to give you her love
There’s a smile I can’t wait to see
A lullaby that you’d love to sing
Just to know I’ll hold you again
Is the gift I’ll hold until then
Calling all angels, I need to feel
Something familiar, something real
Am I just dreaming, I close my eyes
I feel you near, I feel you inside
Just to call your name
And know that you’re still there
Calling all angels
I know the plan was having you here
Sometimes what’s best is so unclear, but
Baby [Boy] put your hand in mine
While I walk through the fire that refines
Father of us all you know the reason that [he's] gone
[He's] in my heart, but in your arms

Several friends from my neighborhood went to Cornbelly’s with all our preschool aged kids and babies! (not all pictured) We missed Savannah, but she is hard at work in first grade. Adventures included a playground, giant trampoline, hayride, pick a pumpkin out of the patch, cow train, corn pit, slides and visiting/playing with friends. Jackson’s favorite activity-the pig races. This is becoming an annual tradition with this group of moms.

“Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without going away better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, eyes, smile, and in your warm greeting…To children, to the poor, to all who suffer and are lonely, give always a happy smile–Give them not only your care, but also your heart.” –Mother Teresa
