Well, you may have noticed I am not posting often. Not into it so much these days, perhaps it’s the increased business of getting the kids back to school or my new commitment to housekeeping or my pregnant mind and body. I think everything except my stomach is getting bigger, but they tell me there’s a healthy girl in there. Thank goodness! If our baby boy had been meant to be with us he would be turning one this month, time flies…and heals.

One last weekend getaway to somewhere warmer…

Our garden was an adventure this year, weeding is even more of a chore when you are pregnant and feel sick, the harvest was decent enough and the kids thought it was great, our many pumpkins froze and were smashed when we went to get them. But the kids were happy as could be with the one left.

Fall soccer wrapped up this weekend, Jackson is itching for the day he can play goalie, he has mad skills in this area.

I haven’t had time to post lately…

My day began at 6 something AM when my 5-year-old asked if it was morning, I told him no go back to sleep, he did, I didn’t. My mind racing I started with meal planning, calendaring Sept and Oct., check e-mail, get kids ready and off to school, accept UPS packages in my Pajamas, shower and get ready, look for a maternity swimsuit (not a good idea at the end of summer), found a top but not a bottom-not sure where that combo will work out but pretty sure it’s not anywhere in the US of A; grocery shopping, buy treat for friend at boutique, barely make it home for Kindergarten bus drop off, lunch, child refuses to go to gymnastics class, organize photos while he’s at a playdate, misc phone calls-doctor appts, change brow wax appt because it overlapped with only dr opening, renew overdue library books, find out there’s a bully on the Kindergarten bus who scratched my kid’s face and pulled his hair, punched the neighbor and kicked another neighbor; realize 2nd grader gets home in 5 min; watch for bus, throw each kid a healthy chocolate chip granola bar dipped in chocolate and tell them to get in the car, time for sculpture class and cooking class, start dinner, realize the class ends in 5 min and leave dinner on the stove cooking while I pick them up, come home, eat dinner, get kids back in the car-once they are buckled and the car is moving with doors locked and child safety locks secured–Tell them we are going to get flu shots–the wailing and gnashing of teeth begins, drag 5-year-old into pediatrician’s office with many people staring at me while their angels sit happily waiting for their shots, a second nurse is called to assist in carrying the 5-year-old to the exam room, he kicks one nurse, tears streaming down his face as they jab the needle into his leg, 7-year-old gets a needle to the arm with only a little freaking out, pick out a couple dum dum suckers and walk out as most popular mom of the year in my maternity jeans and boxy oversized T-shirt purchased in Switzerland in the year 2000 that doesn’t make me look pregnant just big as a bison in Yellowstone, Halloween costume shopping to try and get something before it’s all picked over, home again-start homework in one room, piano practice in the other, regardless of which room I am in, someone in the other room is screaming “Mom, I need help.” 1- I can’t read music, so not much help in the piano area. I don’t know the difference between a treble and a half note. 2-my kids have way too much homework for Kindergarten and 2nd grade. Listen to some piano song 20 x while one kids in bath, trim nails, brush teeth, read with him for 20 min, husband home from study group, says he has to go to the church and enter stats into the computer,2nd grade homework ensues with eye rolling, pencil throwing and whining; couple double sided worksheets later, toss that one in the bath, nearly fall asleep on bed while child is unattended in bathtub(disclaimer she’s a good swimmer), no time to brush teeth, tell her to read on her own in bed, ignore ringing phone for third time since 5:30pm, tell husband who hasn’t left for church yet to push on my sciatic nerve since that’s been hurting all day, he leaves, I can’t remember all the things on my list that I didn’t get to, including feed the cat that is meowing outside my door, off to do some PTA junk and package Amazon sales…the rest will wait…until tomorrow.

Savannah started 2nd grade last week. She has taken to trading Pokemon cards at recess everyday. She has many kids in her class that she knows, and her teacher and the room are super cute.

Jackson had his First Day of Kindergarten today! He said his favorite thing was recess, his second favorite thing was coloring and the worst thing was learning. And he doesn’t know anyone in his class. He rode the bus to and from school–my baby is growing up.

And me…it’s a good thing I have a bun in the oven cause I could get used to this free time!  A long shower and guess what? No one knocked on the door! See’s candies, shopping for fall decor and I ate an entire meal without having to cut anyone’s food, get anyone a drink or take someone to the bathroom or convince them it really will taste good if you just try one bite.

I told Jackson I missed him and he said, “You should get a job mom!”

What should I do tomorrow? I am going to …well I won’t say cause Jason might get some crazy idea about me getting a job too!

We went to the Depeche Mode concert and Peter Bjorn and John opened for them. They only played about 30 minutes and Depeche Mode played a couple hours, it was pretty good, I like the old stuff so much better. As we were walking out, Jason recognized Bjorn, him and John happened to be standing outside our portal so we got their autographs and chatted with them a minute. They said they are doing an east coast tour in November and some other US cities in February.
